Equipment Directory

UL's Hazardous Locations Equipment Directory (the Red Book) contains the names of companies that manufacture equipment assessed by UL to be in compliance with global hazardous locations safety requirements. The Directory is divided into five parts:

  • Part I -- Equipment Listed or Classified to U.S. Division requirements (including UL, IEEE, ISA, NEMA, NFPA, USCG and other requirements)
  • Part II -- Equipment Listed or Classified to U.S. Zone requirements (specifically the UL/ISA 60079 and 61241 series requirements)
  • Part III -- Components Recognized to U.S. Division Requirements (including UL, IEEE, ISA, NEMA, NFPA, and the USCG requirements)
  • Part IV -- Components Recognized to U.S. Zone requirements (specifically the UL/ISA 60079 and 61241 series requirements)
  • Part V -- Products Evaluated to International and Regional HazLoc Standards (including IEC, CENELEC and other requirements)

Each part is subdivided into product categories that identify the companies that can manufacture Listed, Classified or Recognized equipment. It also includes information relating to any limitations or special conditions that may apply to the equipment.
